WHY THIS MATTERS

It starts with people.

Remote communities can face intertwined challenges in healthcare access, nutrition, safe water and living conditions. MCHI approaches these issues together, with dignity and prevention at the center.

We approach this priority as part of a larger system, connecting it to community participation, local knowledge and long-term wellbeing.

PROGRAM PRIORITIES

What we work toward.

Four connected areas guide the direction of this program.

01

Community health outreach

Support approaches that bring vital health information and services closer to remote households.

02

Prevention and awareness

Promote preventive care, hygiene, nutrition and health education for families.

03

Children and family wellbeing

Advance healthy, safe and supportive environments for children and caregivers.

04

Whole-person support

Encourage mental wellbeing, community care and pathways to timely support.

OUR INTENDED APPROACH

Start local. Think lasting.

A community-led process built around listening, learning and collaboration.

01

Listen to the health priorities voiced by community members and local leaders.

02

Work with health professionals and partners on practical outreach and referral pathways.

03

Promote knowledge that helps families make informed decisions every day.
